SDG Annual Progress Report 2025

The year 2025 has been an important stage for Baku State University (BSU) in further strengthening its commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As one of the leading higher education institutions in Azerbaijan, BSU recognizes its responsibility not only to deliver high-quality education and research but also to contribute actively to global sustainability efforts through teaching, innovation, institutional development, and community engagement.

This Annual Progress Report 2025 highlights the university’s key achievements, developments, and ongoing initiatives in integrating the SDGs into its institutional strategies and operations. It reflects progress across academic programs, scientific research, campus sustainability practices, partnerships, and outreach activities, all aligned with the framework of the 17 SDGs. Particular emphasis is placed on the role of BSU as a center of knowledge creation and societal advancement, preparing graduates to address complex global challenges while promoting inclusive and sustainable development at both national and international levels.

The report also serves as a mechanism for transparency and accountability, enabling stakeholders to evaluate BSU’s contribution to sustainable development and to identify areas requiring further improvement. By documenting the actions and initiatives undertaken in 2025, BSU reaffirms its long-term vision of being a university that not only educates but also leads by example in fostering a resilient, equitable, and sustainable future.
