REPORT ON SDG 17: PARTNERSHIP FOR THE GOALS

The "Azerbaijan 2030: National Priorities for Socio-Economic Development" and the "Socio-economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2022-2026" outline a crucial national priority aimed at fostering competitive human capital and modern innovations. To achieve this goal, the country is focusing on establishing Research Universities by 2026. Baku State University (BSU), as the largest educational and scientific institution, has set up a cutting-edge education-research-industry-oriented center called the Center of Excellence for Research, Development, and Innovations. This center, along with modern research laboratories, is equipped with state-of-the-art scientific devices and technology to facilitate interdisciplinary scientific collaboration and the application and commercialization of research outcomes in the industry. It also plays a vital role in training master's and doctoral students directly within scientific-research laboratories. Moreover, this advanced research infrastructure is not exclusive to BSU; it is accessible to employees and students from various scientific research institutes, higher education institutions, and relevant organizations, promoting a collaborative environment for scientific inquiry. This initiative is expected to enhance international cooperation and facilitate competitive scientific research within the framework of diverse projects and programs, propelling Azerbaijan's position in the global scientific landscape.
