An event titled “Green Economy” was held at Baku State University (BSU), jointly organized by the Student Scientific Societies (SSS) of the Faculties of Ecology and Soil Science, and International Relations and Economics.
The aim of the event was to discuss the principles of the green economy, existing challenges and opportunities in the field within an academic framework, and to contribute to the development of environmental awareness among the younger generation.
Qismat Khanbabayev, senior lecturer at the Department of Soil Science and Real Estate Cadastre, delivered a presentation on the role of the green economy in land resource management and highlighted the importance of ecological approaches in agriculture.
Associate professor of the Department of International Relations and political analyst Alimusa Ibrahimov discussed the impact of the green economy on international political and economic relations, and explained the new opportunities this model offers for intergovernmental cooperation.
Raul Imanov, chair of the SSS of the Faculty of Ecology and Soil Science, emphasized the importance of promoting the green economy among youth and shared potential initiatives that could be implemented at the university level.
Ali Baghrali, chair of the SSS of the Faculty of International Relations and Economics, explained the connection between the green economy, market models, and sustainable development strategies, stressing the promising prospects of research in this area for young scholars.
At the end of the event, various proposals and ideas regarding the application of the green economy in different sectors were presented.
