14-02-2026

On the occasion of 14 February – International Book Giving Day, 213 copies of books were donated to the Heydar Aliyev Center of Tartar district, as well as to Secondary Schools No. 1, 2, 5, and 6 of the city and the full secondary schools of Khoruzlu, Beyimsarov, and Azad Garagoyunlu villages. The initiative was jointly organized by the Tartar District Executive Authority, the Scientific Library of Baku State University (BSU), and the “BSU Volunteers” organization.

The donated books included works by prominent representatives of Azerbaijani literature, publications on oral folk literature, and books covering various branches of science.

Speaking at the book presentation ceremony, Narghiz Mammadzzade, a member of the “BSU Volunteers” organization representing the Faculty of International Relations and Economics, noted that this day unites all those who seek to promote reading interest and a love for books around a common goal, and that every year thousands of new and pre-read books are donated to children. She emphasized that within the framework of this campaign, which has become a tradition at BSU, books are presented to general and higher education institutions across various regions of the country. This tradition not only stimulates intellectual development but also fosters a culture of sharing and giving within society.
