BSU hosts specialized training on the “LeapSpace” digital platform for researchers
29-04-2026

A specialized training dedicated to the “LeapSpace” digital platform was held at Baku State University (BSU) for researchers.

The platform, aimed at improving research processes with the support of artificial intelligence, focuses on enhancing the efficiency of scientific work, strengthening collaboration, and fostering data-driven innovation.

Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation at BSU, Huseyn Mammadov, emphasized the importance of international scientific information resources such as Elsevier in the modern research environment. He noted that access to global scientific databases, the use of advanced analytical tools, and increasing international visibility of research outcomes are key indicators of university competitiveness. In this regard, Elsevier platforms provide significant opportunities for improving research quality, increasing citation impact, and expanding international collaboration.

The training was conducted by Elsevier manager Saide Sak. The session brought together faculty members, young researchers, and doctoral students, who became familiar with the integration of modern digital tools into the research process. The functional capabilities of the “LeapSpace” platform were demonstrated through practical examples, including project management optimization, advanced analytics, and effective mechanisms for scientific collaboration. Participants were also introduced to how the platform supports all stages of research — from idea generation and data collection to analysis, publication, and dissemination of results.

Key topics discussed during the training included advanced methods for searching and analyzing scientific literature, identifying research gaps and generating innovative ideas, exploring funding and international collaboration opportunities, developing critical thinking skills through AI-based approaches, and monitoring research performance and citation metrics. The interactive format allowed participants to ask questions and discuss approaches tailored to their individual research directions.

It was noted that the implementation of innovative platforms like “LeapSpace” contributes to simplifying research processes, increasing scientific productivity, and strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration. Participants highly appreciated the practical value of the platform and highlighted its broad applicability in daily research activities.

This initiative represents an important step toward advancing scientific excellence and promoting digital transformation at BSU. Strengthening researchers’ integration into the global scientific community, increasing their presence on international platforms, and enhancing competitiveness remain key priorities.

Additional sessions for researchers will also be organized within this initiative, contributing to the development of a more connected, innovative, and dynamic scientific ecosystem at the university.
