Alish Agamirzayev, Vice-Rector for Social Affairs, Student Relations, and Public Engagement at Baku State University (BSU), met with members of youth organizations actively participating in the University’s social life, as well as students distinguished by their academic performance.
Agamirzayev highlighted that 2025 was marked by significant events at BSU and that student organizations at the University have become even more active. He noted that in 2020, for the first time among higher education institutions, a Department of Humanitarian Affairs and Youth Policy was established at BSU. The department focuses on implementing state youth policies, systematically managing youth organizations, and supporting sustainable development. Currently, the Student Youth Organization, Student Trade Union Committee, and the “BSU Volunteers” organization implement successful projects that contribute to the development of thousands of students. BSU students also demonstrate high engagement in national-level events.
The Vice-Rector noted that this year has been declared the “Year of Urban Planning and Architecture” in Azerbaijan by President Ilham Aliyev, and he encouraged students to actively participate in this field. He emphasized that individual initiatives and projects stimulate students’ self-expression and innovative thinking: “The role of urbanization in city planning and the application of artificial intelligence in modern cities is highly relevant today. We are always ready to support youth initiatives in these areas. BSU students, whom National Leader Heydar Aliyev proudly considers his alumni, must always be educated and patriotic. We are confident in this.”
Subsequently, students who actively participate in the University’s social life and those distinguished by their academic achievements were recognized and awarded.
