On September 18, 2025, a meeting was held at the Physics Faculty of Baku State University (BSU) with newly admitted first‑year undergraduate students. The event began with the national anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, followed by a moment of silence in memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the liberation of Azerbaijani lands.
During the program, a video presentation was shown that highlighted the history of the Physics Faculty, its academic organization, scientific activities, and distinguished alumni. Dean Bakhtiyar Pashayev congratulated the first‑year students on their admission to the faculty, spoke about the accomplishments of the university and the faculty in education and science, and encouraged students to honor national and moral values, be patriotic, and actively engage in their studies.
The Head of the Department of Theoretical Physics, Mammad Rəcəbov, also addressed the students, noting the pride of earning the title of BSU student and stressing the importance of hard work and continuous learning. The faculty’s Deputy Dean for Social Affairs and Student Relations, Mahammad Maharramov, introduced students to the university’s internal discipline regulations and invited them to participate in student organizations, the Sports Club, and the Culture‑Creativity Center.
Speakers also included Lala Gahramanli, the winner of BSU’s “Young Scientist of the Year” competition and a Physics Faculty alumna, who shared advice on achieving success in education and research. Senior students, including a national physics Olympiad winner and the student with the highest entrance exam score, spoke about their pride in becoming members of the Physics Faculty and their enthusiasm for pursuing physics.
At the end of the event, a performance of the song “Yaxşı ki varsan, universitetim!” dedicated to BSU’s 105th anniversary was presented.
