Baku State University (BSU) announces the “Scientist of the Year” competition among its staff, dedicated to 27 March – Science Day in the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The competition, held regularly at BSU, aims to recognize employees who have achieved significant scientific results throughout the year, published impactful articles in internationally indexed journals, received citations for their work, and demonstrated outstanding scientific and organizational achievements.
The competition is held in two categories:

Natural, Exact, and Technical Sciences

Humanities and Social Sciences
Winners of the competition are awarded the title “Scientist of the Year” along with diplomas and monetary prizes:

1st place: 2,500 AZN in each category

2nd place: 1,500 AZN in each category

3rd place: 1,000 AZN in each category
Submission requirements include, but are not limited to:

At least five published articles in 2025, including articles indexed in Scopus or Web of Science

Published monographs, books, patents, citations, participation in conferences, grants, outreach activities, and other academic contributions in 2025

Documentation of personal professional pages (ResearchGate, Mendeley, Academia, Google Scholar, LinkedIn, etc.)

Participation in state programs, professional training, and roles in editorial boards or scientific councils
The competition runs from 6 February 2026, and the deadline for submission is 6 March 2026, 17:00. Applications must be submitted electronically to [email protected]. Only BSU staff, master’s, and doctoral students may participate individually.
