A masterclass titled "Philology and Artificial Intelligence: The New Era of Language" was held at the Faculty of Philology of Baku State University (BDU) with the initiative of the "BDU Volunteers" organization. The guest speaker was Ramil Ahmad, a BDU graduate, recipient of the Presidential Award, faculty member at ADA University, and Doctor of Philosophy in Philology.
Ramil Ahmad, a young writer, gave a brief overview of the historical stages of literature and provided extensive information on the innovations and challenges that artificial intelligence brings to this field. He emphasized that artificial intelligence is no longer confined to technological areas but plays a significant role in philological aspects such as creativity, translation, language analysis, and text structuring. The guest speaker discussed both the positive and negative impacts of artificial intelligence on philology, highlighting that excessive use of AI could lead to a decline in analytical thinking and logical reasoning, as well as raise ethical concerns.
Afterward, Ramil Ahmad answered questions from the students and recited some of his poems. At the end of the event, the guest presented students with copies of his books as gifts.
