Training on food safety held at BSU

Baku State University (BDU) organized a training titled “Food Safety and Engineering: New Paths and Opportunities for Students” at the Faculty of Biology. The event aimed to enhance students’ knowledge and skills in science, technology, and industry.

The Faculty Dean, Afət Məmmədova, noted that such sessions provide students with opportunities to combine theoretical knowledge with practical skills and familiarize themselves with modern production processes. She emphasized that adherence to food safety and quality standards is a global priority, and learning contemporary approaches in this area is crucial for students.

The trainer, Javid Qurbanzadə, Head of Quality and HSE at Azerbaijan Fish Farm LLC, discussed international quality management systems applied in the food industry, including ISO 9001, ISO 22000, and HACCP standards. He also provided information on quality control in enterprises, risk analysis, production safety regulations, and principles of environmental responsibility.

The training continued with interactive discussions, during which students’ questions regarding career opportunities in food engineering, certification, and technological innovations were addressed.
