An event titled "Space and Climate Change" has been held at Baku State University (BSU) as part of "World Space Week 2024."
The event aimed to emphasize the global significance of climate change in modern times and the role of space research in this field.
During the event, Nəzrin Qocayeva, an employee of Azercosmos, led a practical workshop on the Climate Report announced by the organization. She explained to the participants how space technologies are used for monitoring climate change and highlighted the importance of real-time data for climate science.
In the main part of the seminar, students engaged in practical tasks related to climate science and space technologies. They were presented with specific examples of climate change derived from space data. Students participated in group discussions to understand the role of space in combating climate change. Participants were also informed about projects where scientific research is practically applied.
