In honor of the 150th anniversary of Azerbaijan’s national press, “Azersun Holding” has awarded scholarships to six students of the Faculty of Journalism at Baku State University (BSU) who achieved the highest scores in the spring semester examination session.

At the event organized on this occasion, BSU’s Vice-Rector for Social Affairs, Student Relations and Public Communications, Alish Aghamirzayev, stated that it was a welcome initiative to mark such a significant milestone. He emphasized that university-industry cooperation is considered a key trend in BSU’s operations, and that in recent years, the university has implemented joint projects with various organizations: “It is gratifying that this tradition has now extended to the Faculty of Journalism as well. Azersun Holding is one of the country’s largest companies. These scholarships will serve as a great motivation for students and support their development as professional specialists.”

Dean of the Faculty of Journalism, Vuqar Zifaroğlu, expressed gratitude to the university administration and “Azersun Holding” for the support provided to students, emphasizing the important role such initiatives play in training future journalists: “We hope that other companies will also implement similar projects. In the future, we may be able to announce even more exciting and impactful scholarship programs that contribute to the development of our youth.”

Rza Mammadov, Head of the Public Relations Department at “Azersun Holding,” noted that the holding has been implementing a series of press-related projects this year: “Within the framework of these projects, one of our main partners is BSU’s Faculty of Journalism. During the next academic year, the holding will continue to support six top-performing students.”

Head of the Department of National Press History at the Faculty of Journalism, Jahangir Mammadli, and Advisor to “Azersun Holding,” Oruch Ibrahimov, also congratulated the students and shared their advice during the meeting.
