BDU students at ICESCO’s Model Satellite Training and International Aerospace Symposium in Almaty
08-09-2025

Students of Baku State University (BSU) are participating in the Model Satellite Training Workshop and International Aerospace Symposium ("Model Satellite – CanSat Training Workshop & Aerospace Symposium") held in Almaty, Kazakhstan, organized by the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

At the event, BSU students representing Azerbaijan will design and develop a “CanSat” model satellite. The device, once launched, will be able to measure atmospheric parameters, capture aerial images, and transmit all collected data in real time to the Ground Control Station (GCS) until its descent.

Within the symposium, participants will be provided with training by experts and aerospace engineers on the design, assembly, and testing of “CanSats.” Additionally, opportunities for collaboration with agencies will be created to promote research and development in the field of aerospace technology.

The discussions and training at the event are particularly important for research activities in solar physics, the study of solar system objects, Sun–Earth relations, space weather monitoring, Earth observation, and space data processing.

The symposium and training will continue until September 11.
