Baku State University (BSU) and Satbayev University, one of Kazakhstan's prestigious higher education institutions, organized an online training on the topic of "Implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Higher Education Institutions" as part of their ongoing collaboration. The training was organized by the BSU Quality Assurance Center.
During the opening of the training, Asiman Ilyasov, the Advisor to the Rector of BSU on Quality Assurance, emphasized the importance of inter-university partnerships, highlighting that such initiatives make a significant contribution to strengthening the academic and institutional potential of higher education institutions. He also provided information about the activities carried out at BSU in recent years to integrate SDGs into teaching and research processes.
As part of the training, presentations were made by Aliya Jaksılıkova, the Head of the Project Office on Sustainable Development Goals at Satbayev University, Rustam Axmetov, the Manager, and Emil Andekin, the Head of the Institutional and Scientific-Methodological Research Department. The presentations highlighted the crucial role of integrating SDGs in shaping the position of higher education institutions in international rankings.
The training continued with interactive discussions. Participants exchanged views on the integration of SDGs into teaching, research, and public service activities, as well as best practices in this area.
