Students of the Department of Biology at Baku State University (BSU), specializing in "Aquatic Bioresources," are currently undergoing production practice at "AzVarvara" LLC, located in the Yevlakh region.

"AzVarvara" LLC, one of the largest sturgeon farming centers in Azerbaijan, operates on a 280-hectare area. The farm simultaneously cultivates over 1,400 tons of regional fish, including Azerbaijan's endemic sturgeon species, as well as Cheban fish, Siberian sturgeon, and various hybrid types. The facility's annual production capacity is 35 tons of black caviar and 350 tons of sturgeon meat.

During their production practice, the students became closely acquainted with the various stages of the fish farming process. They were provided with detailed information about the hormonal injection of fish, the breeding of larvae and fry, their feeding, and the overall infrastructure. Throughout the practice, the students applied their theoretical knowledge in real-world conditions, gaining valuable practical skills in the field.
