The Director of the Student Scientific and Technical Creativity Center of Baku State University (BSU), Ilyas Nasibov, represented the "Clean-Charge – 22 kWh AC Fast Charging Station" project, which won the 5th Grant Competition organized by the Small and Medium Business Development Agency, at the "Business, Investment, and Philanthropy Climate Platform" held in the Blue Zone of COP29.
The event covered topics related to accelerating climate solutions that support sustainable development, multilateral strategies for climate and nature, and investment in the future of our planet and the environment. Discussions during the event focused on reducing the amount of carbon dioxide released into nature during the production of electricity used by electric vehicles at power stations, as well as the use of clean energy in this process.
The main goal of the "Clean-Charge" project is to ensure fast charging of electric vehicles through "green energy," even in the absence of an electrical source. The charging station to be created will solve many problems faced by drivers with its features. This system will provide fast charging for electric vehicles at home, within cities, on intercity roads, and in areas without electrical grids, making it more accessible, safe, and "environmentally and budget-friendly."
It is planned to install the "Clean-Charge – 22 kWh AC" fast charging station at BSU's car park in December of this year. The station, which uses solar and wind energy and has a total power of 22 kilowatt-hours, will feature 3 charging ports supporting the GBT and CCS2 standards for electric vehicles from China, Europe, and the USA, as well as 2 charging ports for electric bicycles and scooters.
Charging electric vehicles and electric bicycles with "Clean-Charge" will be free of charge for BSU's faculty and students.
