Baku State University (BSU) is participating in the “Caspian Agro” – the 18th Azerbaijan International Agriculture Exhibition.
The exhibition brings together a diverse range of local and international companies and government agencies involved in the agricultural sector.
As part of the event, projects focused on the application of artificial intelligence in agriculture under the “Smart Agro” direction were showcased, organized by the Agrarian Innovation Center. BSU is participating with its project titled “Irrigo – a Sustainable Agricultural Ecosystem.”
During the exhibition, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, visited the BSU booth and was informed about the project.
The “Irrigo” system ensures the treatment of wastewater and, through the integration of artificial intelligence, automatically regulates the type and amount of fertilizers based on the needs of specific crops. This allows the system to prepare irrigation water enriched with tailored mineral content, positively influencing the growth rate and morphology of the plants.
The project encompasses the treatment of wastewater, analysis of mineral content, and enrichment processes tailored to plant requirements, aligning with the “Smart Village” concept and the National Strategy on Efficient Use of Water Resources. It aims to contribute to the creation of a sustainable, innovative, and welfare-oriented modern living environment in the liberated territories of Karabakh.
President Ilham Aliyev was also briefed on BSU’s recent achievements in startup and technology competitions.
In addition to the main booth, BSU is also represented in the open area allocated for higher education institutions with a promotional stand showcasing the university’s innovations and academic strengths.
