21-05-2024

During this initiative, the professional doctors of the National Ophthalmology Center named after Academician Zarifa Aliyeva, operating through the Automobile Mobile Clinic at Baku State University (BSU), conducted ophthalmological examinations for approximately 500 students and faculty members.

The primary goal of the campaign was to deliver medical care to the university community, focusing on early detection of visual impairments, ongoing monitoring of eye health, and consultation on addressing any identified issues.

Since 2005, the National Ophthalmology Center named after Academician Zarifa Aliyeva has been organizing mobile campaigns, including surgical interventions, to offer free ophthalmological services to the population across the capital and various regions of Azerbaijan. The Mobile Ophthalmological Clinic plays a crucial role in timely screening for higher education students across the country, aiming to detect refractive abnormalities and prevent potential complications. The clinic, staffed with experienced local and international ophthalmologists, provides comprehensive eye care, including surgical procedures. Additionally, since 2018, the Mobile Train of the National Ophthalmology Center has been in operation, further extending its outreach efforts.
