A group of faculty members and students from the Department of Economic-Political Geography of Foreign Countries and Tourism at the Faculty of Geography of Baku State University (BSU) visited the Gobustan Mud Volcanoes Tourism Complex. The purpose of the trip was to study the geological processes in the region and to explore the natural resource potential of the area.
Students were informed that the scientific study of the Gobustan mud volcanoes holds great significance, as such research plays a crucial role in environmental protection and in the prediction of potential natural disasters in the future. In-depth investigation of the geological, natural, and therapeutic properties of mud volcanoes provides a foundation for research in many other scientific and practical fields.
During the visit, students became acquainted with the characteristics of the Gobustan mud volcanoes as well as the stratigraphic rock formations present in the area.
