Chairperson of “BSU Volunteers” presented project on AI ethics during meeting with Minister of Youth and Sports

On June 2, Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov held a meeting with leaders and representatives of youth organizations.

During the meeting held in Sumgait, co-organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Public Council under the ministry, the chairperson of the “BSU Volunteers” organization, Narmin Heydarova, spoke about the organization’s activities both within the university and in the public life of the country. She presented the project titled “School of Artificial Intelligence Ethics.”

She noted that the project is based on the “Artificial Intelligence Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2025–2028” approved by Presidential Decree No. 530 dated March 19, 2025, and aims to bring together students and youth from the Turkic world, develop skills related to the ethical dimensions of artificial intelligence, strengthen ethical decision-making, promote exchange of experience and knowledge among young people, raise awareness of AI’s societal impact, and foster interregional cooperation and dialogue.

Narmin Heydarova also recalled that in 2024, in order to scientifically examine, analyze, and address these issues, the Scientific Council of Baku State University made the decision to establish a Department of Artificial Intelligence Ethics at BSU.
