A scientific seminar dedicated to Science Day in the Republic of Azerbaijan was held at Baku State University (BSU) in collaboration with Codelandia LLC.
The seminar aimed to raise awareness among students and young researchers about cybersecurity and inform them about the latest developments in the field. During the event, Checkpoint Cybersecurity's official representative in Azerbaijan, Shahin Soltanov, and cybersecurity specialist from Codelandia LLC, Toghrul Khalilov, delivered presentations on "Cyber Immunity: Cyber Hygiene and Protection Against Online Threats."
BSU's Vice-Rector for Science and Innovations, Huseyn Mammadov, addressed the participants, providing insights into projects planned in collaboration with Codelandia LLC as part of the university's state-private sector partnerships. He emphasized that such initiatives contribute to enhancing BSU students’ knowledge and skills in information technology, preparing them as highly qualified specialists who meet labor market demands.
Following this, speakers Shahin Soltanov and Toghrul Khalilov discussed key topics such as cybersecurity approaches for strengthening the resilience of systems and individual users against cyber threats, ensuring information security in the digital age, protecting personal and corporate data, and methods for preventing cyberattacks. Additionally, they elaborated on strengthening security systems, regular updates, the role of artificial intelligence in cybersecurity, network security, and the human factor in digital protection. They also explored how companies and individuals can safeguard against cyber threats using modern technologies, the future of cyber immunity, the implementation of new solutions against evolving cyber threats, and the formation of national cybersecurity strategies.
The seminar concluded with a Q&A session and discussions on the topics covered.
It should be noted that BSU plans to organize a series of events focusing on artificial intelligence-based technologies and information security. These initiatives aim to further develop students’ and young researchers' expertise in these fields, keep them informed about the latest advancements, and provide opportunities to learn from industry professionals.
