Ilyas Nasibov, Director of the Student Scientific-Technical Creativity Center of Baku State University (BSU), visited Istanbul Gedik University in Türkiye.
The purpose of the visit was to gain detailed insight into the university’s educational and research potential in the field of engineering, as well as to become acquainted with the operations of the Technology Transfer Office.
As part of the visit, Ilyas Nasibov met with Engin Açıkalın, Head of the Technology Transfer Office, and Egemen Sulukan, Head of the Department of Mechatronics Engineering. During the meeting, the BSU representative provided information about the university’s history, faculties, laboratories, research centers, its ranking in global university listings, and its recent achievements in technology and startup competitions. He also explored the job opportunities the Technology Transfer Office provides to students.
It is worth noting that Istanbul Gedik University was established by Gedik Holding, a company founded in 1963. The company specializes in the production of various industrial and laboratory devices, currently manufacturing over 140 types of products for international markets. Students of Istanbul Gedik University are integrated into internship programs in the company’s production facilities in accordance with their specialties, with many gaining employment during their student years.
