The dual degree program between Baku State University (BSU) and Satbayev Kazakh National Research Technical University (KazNRTU) is successfully continuing.

At BSU, continuous efforts are being made to align the content and quality indicators of education with international standards and to enhance global competitiveness through dual degree programs with a number of leading universities worldwide. One such project is the joint dual master’s degree program in “Petrochemistry” carried out between BSU and KazNRTU. The purpose of the project is to train specialists with comprehensive knowledge, modern thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practice in the fields of oil and gas chemistry, fuels, and the synthesis of technically significant substances from natural hydrocarbon resources.

It should be noted that KazNRTU provides high-level bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral training in petrochemistry and chemical engineering. The university ranks 331st in the QS World University Rankings and 64th in the QS ECCA Rankings. The university operates 114 educational and research laboratories and collaborates with 174 leading higher education institutions and 450 prestigious companies worldwide.

According to the cooperation agreement on the dual degree program between BSU and KazNRTU, two graduates were trained during the 2022/2023 academic year. At present, the program continues successfully. For example, Günel Rustamli, a master’s student in Petrochemistry at the Department of Petrochemistry and Chemical Technology of KazNRTU’s Faculty of Chemistry, and Aidana Iskander, a KazNRTU master’s student pursuing education at BSU, are continuing their studies and conducting research for their dissertation topics.
