02-07-2025

Five students from Baku State University (BSU) — Mert Üstün, Aslan Bekirhan (Faculty of International Relations and Economics), Eylül Tanşı Karaca (Faculty of Social Sciences and Psychology), Burcu Çaylak (Faculty of History), along with Fidan Kərimli, a recent high-achieving graduate of BSU — are participating in the Youth Forum organized within the framework of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Week.

Within the Forum, a plenary panel titled “High-Level Perspectives: The Role of Youth in Regional Development” and a panel session titled “Country Interventions: National Perspectives on Assessing the Contribution of Youth Strategies to Sustainable Development” were held.

Following the panel discussions, working groups were formed by the participants to discuss three key areas: economic and trade cooperation, sustainability and technology, and human development and people-to-people dialogue.

During the working group meetings, BSU student Mert Üstün proposed the idea of an “ECO Volunteering” program for OIC countries, emphasizing that it would provide youth with valuable new experiences.

It should be noted that the Forum gathered around 100 young people from 7 member countries, alongside representatives from government agencies, OIC officials, and experts.
