Forensic genome expertise simulation” held at BSU

An interactive training-simulation titled “Forensic Genome Expertise Simulation” was held at the Faculty of Biology of Baku State University (BSU), organized by the Student Youth Organization.

The purpose of the training was to provide students with practical knowledge and skills in the field of forensic genome analysis, engage them in the scientific examination of evidence, and enhance their research competencies. Participants were first introduced to the theoretical aspects of biological and genetic tests used in forensic genetic examinations and their areas of application. Following this, student teams conducted research and analysis based on the materials provided to them. At the end of the session, each team presented the outcomes of their investigations.

During the final presentation session, Dean of the Faculty of Biology, Afat Mammadova, and Head of the Department of Criminalistics and Forensic Expertise at the Faculty of Law, Kamil Salimov, emphasized the importance of such practical exercises in preparing students for their future professional careers.

The work of all three participating teams was highly praised by the jury. Based on the jury’s decision, Team 167A was declared the winner and awarded a certificate of achievement.
