A scientific simulation titled "Global Dialogue for Sustainable Development" was held at Baku State University (BSU), organized by the Student Scientific Society (SSS) of the Faculty of Ecology and Soil Science.
The Dean of the Faculty, Associate Professor Akif Agbabalı, spoke about the significance of the event, the scientific engagement of students, and the contribution such initiatives make to society. He emphasized the relevance of the United Nations’ calls for sustainable development and wished the participants success.
Following that, the Chair of the Faculty’s SSS, Raul Imanov, provided participants with information about the objectives of the simulation, its organizational phases, and the main discussion topics.
During the simulation, students acted as representatives of various countries, engaging in diplomatic debates on pressing issues such as global development, environmental security, international cooperation, and a sustainable future. The process was aimed at enhancing young people's analytical thinking, public speaking, and decision-making skills.
As the event was conducted in an interactive and realistic diplomatic format, participants had the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge in practice.
At the end, based on the jury's decision, second-year student Amin Müzəffərli was awarded “Best Delegate,” second-year student Səbinə Vahidova received the “Best Diplomatic Performance” award, and first-year student Toğrul Mehdiyev was recognized for the “Best Position Paper.” All winners were presented with certificates.
