An infotour was organized at Baku State University (BSU) for university applicants who are children of martyrs. The event was jointly organized by the “BSU Volunteers” organization and the “Zəfər” Public Union for Supporting Families of Martyrs.

The tour began with a meeting between BSU Rector Elchin Babayev and the children of martyrs in the “Victory History” lecture hall. Rector Babayev spoke about BSU’s significant role in Azerbaijan’s science, education, and socio-political life, highlighting that the university's most prominent alumnus is the National Leader Heydar Aliyev. He emphasized BSU’s mission to educate highly qualified professionals who are committed to national values and statehood. Addressing the guests, he said: “You are the children of individuals who courageously gave their lives for our country’s freedom and wrote history through their heroism. We are confident you will live up to their legacy and succeed in life and education. The state and the people are with you every step of the way.”

Chairwoman of the “Zəfər” Public Union Sevinc Orucova described BSU as the flagship of higher education in the country, noting the university’s rapidly rising international rankings and its strong academic and research environment. She explained that the purpose of the event was to support martyr children in their career choices and provide them with a day full of motivation: “This year, nearly 60 children of martyrs have graduated from high school. Regardless of which university, profession, or field they choose, we trust they will make the right decisions.”

The children visited BSU’s Heydar Aliyev Museum and lecture hall, where they explored exhibits showcasing the National Leader’s life and contributions to the state. They also visited the Mineral Resources Museum and the Museum of Evolution.

At the university’s “Student Space,” an info session was held to inform applicants about BSU’s educational process, faculties, programs, research environment, academic and social support systems, and student life.

The event concluded with an introduction to the university’s eco-friendly initiatives and green zones. The children toured BSU’s “Eco Space,” the Student Scientific-Technical Creativity Center, academic buildings, and campus.
