Elchin Babayev, Rector of Baku State University (BSU), met with a group of BSU graduates who were awarded scholarships under the “State Program on Education of Young People at Prestigious Higher Education Institutions Abroad for 2022–2028” and Intergovernmental Scholarship Programs.
Rector Elchin Babayev congratulated the graduates and wished them success in their academic and personal lives. He emphasized that BSU has always been proud of its alumni:
“Every university’s greatest treasure is its students and graduates. The most distinguished alumnus of BSU is our nation’s National Leader, Heydar Aliyev. Among BSU graduates are state and government officials, as well as members of the Milli Majlis. To date, BSU has trained more than 200,000 highly qualified specialists for our country. You are now experiencing the second turning point in your lives, the first being your admission to university. You are the youth of a victorious nation, setting out to continue your education abroad during the most powerful period of our Azerbaijan. We are confident that you will represent your country, your family, and BSU with dignity abroad and become professional cadres for our Motherland.”
The rector advised the graduates to work harder on self-improvement and personal development, noting that BSU would always remain their home. He also informed them about projects planned by the university to maintain engagement with its alumni.
The graduates who spoke at the event highlighted the great opportunities created by the State Program for young people to study abroad and pledged to maintain strong ties with BSU.
It should be noted that 46 BSU graduates will continue their education at the master’s level in prestigious universities around the world, while 5 graduates will pursue doctoral studies.
