The opening ceremony of the Career Festival was held at Baku State University (BSU), jointly organized by the State Employment Agency and the BSU Student Trade Union Committee.
At the festival, over 100 prestigious employers from across the country are offering more than 1,200 job vacancies and around 500 scholarship programs to BSU students and graduates.
In his opening remarks, BSU Rector Elchin Babayev expressed gratitude to the State Employment Agency and the participating employers for their support in organizing the event and wished success to the students and graduates. He emphasized that the Career Festival, which has been held at BSU for several years, aims to connect students and graduates with leading national organizations and companies, facilitate their successful integration into the labor market, and support the career prospects of knowledgeable, skilled, and experienced youth. The festival, organized in an “open-door” format, is also attended by students and graduates of other universities, as well as unemployed individuals and job seekers.
More than 100 prominent public institutions, private companies, and enterprises are presenting detailed information about their activities, available vacancies, scholarship and internship programs. Throughout the festival, participants will have the opportunity to engage with employers, apply for vacancies, submit CVs, and take part in interview simulations. The festival program also includes workshops, trainings, and seminars aimed at developing students’ and graduates’ skills, as well as startup and simulation corners.
Ulvi Abbasguliyev, Deputy Chairman of the State Employment Agency, noted that the Career Festival is one of the most important tools for graduate employment. It facilitates direct interaction between job seekers and employers, strengthens cooperation between universities and employers, and helps companies identify new talent. He also emphasized that some traditional professions have lost relevance in recent years, while new specialties aligned with modern challenges have emerged. Therefore, universities and students must be prepared to adapt to these changes and embrace technological advancement. He expressed confidence that hundreds of graduates would secure employment contracts through this festival.
Nijat Asadli, Deputy Director of the State Agency for Science and Higher Education, highlighted BSU as the oldest and most prominent educational institution in the country. He underlined BSU’s vital role in advancing education, science, and innovation in Azerbaijan, and encouraged students and graduates to be proactive and take full advantage of the opportunities provided.
Emil Mammad-sadykhov, Chairman of the Board of LU-MUN Holding, and Akif Aliyev, Director of AZERA Holding LLC, spoke about their successful cooperation with BSU and wished the participating students and graduates the best of luck.
Following the official ceremony, participants visited company booths, where they were provided with detailed information about each organization.
It is worth noting that within the festival, six different sections will host workshops, trainings, and seminars aimed at developing the skills and competencies of students and graduates.
