A presentation of the music video for the anthem “Unique Individuals”, dedicated to children with disabilities, was held at Baku State University (BSU), organized by the “BSU Volunteers” organization.
The music video was produced with the support of the Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with the “Umid Var” Inclusive Creativity Union and the “Happy Future for Children” Public Association, and was sponsored by PASHA Holding.
The event’s moderator, Nurana Abiyeva, a trainer in speech and sign language, expressed her gratitude to the university administration and the “BSU Volunteers” for their support in organizing the event. She emphasized that the core principle of an inclusive society is to ensure that people with disabilities are fully integrated into daily life and have equitable access to resources and opportunities, just like their peers.
Ramin Samedov, Head of the Department for Humanitarian Affairs and Youth Policy at BSU, underlined that inclusive education programs for individuals with disabilities are currently being implemented at the national level. He added that BSU has successfully incorporated this vision into both its academic and social activities:
“One of our key goals is to involve individuals with disabilities in all processes and support their development. Because they are not disabled — they are simply different.”
Nazila Maharramova, Chair of the “Umid Var” Inclusive Creativity Union, and autism researcher Asmar Askerova, highlighted that the anthem is intended to contribute to the development of an inclusive society. They also stressed that such events held in universities play an important role in raising awareness and sensitivity among students on these issues.
The event continued with a special concert program performed by children with disabilities.
It is worth noting that the anthem was created with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, as part of the “Unique Individuals” International Congress dedicated to people with special needs, organized by Caspian Event Organisers, and with the participation of members of the “Umid Var” Inclusive Creativity Union.
The anthem’s music was composed by Tural Mammadli, with lyrics by Leyla Guliyeva, and the music video was directed by Ulviya Konul.
