A scientific seminar titled “Fifth Industrial Revolution: Current Situation and Future Prospects” was held at the Nano Research Scientific Laboratory operating under the Center of Excellence in Research, Development and Innovation at Baku State University (BSU).
At the seminar, junior researcher Orkhan Gulahmadov delivered a presentation on the topic. He briefly reviewed the historical development stages of industrial revolutions, focusing in particular on the essence, technological trends, and human-centered approaches of the Fifth Industrial Revolution. The presentation addressed topics such as ethical applications of artificial intelligence, collaborative robots (cobots), personalized production systems, green technologies, and principles of social justice.
Orkhan Gulahmadov also provided insights into Azerbaijan’s position in this process, including the country’s digitalization strategy, development of industrial parks, renewable energy projects, and efforts to build technological capabilities.
The seminar further analyzed the transition from Industry 4.0 to Industry 5.0 and included an exchange of views on future research priorities in the fields of technology and industry in the country.
