A scientific seminar titled “Electronic Information Resources of the Jafar Jabbarli Republican Youth Library” was held at the Faculty of Information and Document Management of Baku State University (BSU), organized by the university's Student Scientific Society.
During the seminar, BSU graduate student from the Department of Library and Information Resource Management, Lala Mammadova, delivered a presentation.
The young researcher provided an overview of the history, formation, and development stages of the Jafar Jabbarli Republican Youth Library, emphasizing its crucial role in delivering information services to young people. She noted that the library's electronic information resources are continuously being enhanced and shared detailed insights into the ongoing efforts in this area: “The number of resources included in the electronic library by the relevant department is steadily increasing. These include works by both local and foreign authors across various fields that are of particular interest to young readers.”
The study also presented a thorough analysis of the activities of the Library Automation and Digitization Department, highlighting its role in modernizing library and information services, ensuring information provision using contemporary methods, and delivering remote electronic information services.
The presentation featured graphical data illustrating the development dynamics of the library’s electronic resources, along with comparative analyses. It also highlighted the library’s e-exhibitions and digital projects, as well as its domestic and international collaborations.
Gunay Hasanova, Deputy Director for Scientific Affairs of the Jafar Jabbarli Republican Youth Library, who participated in the event, emphasized the ongoing cooperation with BSU’s Faculty of Information and Document Management. She underlined collaboration in areas such as involving library staff in academic and research activities at the faculty, providing internship opportunities for students at the library, and organizing joint events across various platforms.
The seminar concluded with interactive discussions.
