The opening ceremony of the "Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Week" was held with the organization of the Baku State University (BSU) Student Trade Union Committee (STUC).

At the ceremony, Zöhrab Cavadzadə, the Chair of the BSU STUC, provided detailed information about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and highlighted the work Azerbaijan has undertaken in this field.

Asiman İlyasov, the Rector's Advisor on Quality Assurance at BSU, Ramin Samedov, Head of the Department of Humanitarian Affairs and Youth Policy, Mehluge Yusifova, Head of the Department of Geographical Ecology at the Faculty of Ecology and Soil Science, and Amin Məmmədov, Chair of the Public Council under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, all emphasized in their speeches that the SDGs, established by the UN in 2015, represent a universal call to address global issues such as poverty, inequality, climate change, and quality education. It was noted that BSU, as a center for innovation, science, and education, plays a crucial role in the national development and promotion of the SDGs.

It was also announced that within the framework of the "Sustainable Development Goals Week," which will run until April 11, training sessions, seminars, and interactive games on the goals related to "Health and Well-being," "Quality Education," "Combatting Climate Change," "Sustainable Cities and Communities," and "Reducing Inequality" will be held.
