The 4th-year students of the Faculty of Biology at BSU are currently undergoing industrial practice

The industrial internships of the 4th-year students of the Faculty of Biology at Baku State University (BSU), majoring in "Biology," "Biotechnology," "Aquatic Bioresources and Aquatic Plants," and "Plant Protection," are ongoing. The students are undergoing practical training at the Laboratory of the Agricultural Services Agency under the Ministry of Agriculture, the Vegetable Science Research Institute, the Botanical Institute of the Ministry of Science and Education, the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, the Zoology Institute, and other industrial enterprises.

At the Laboratory of the Agricultural Services Agency under the Ministry of Agriculture, students are being shown the methodology for testing nitrogen, protein, and phosphorus content in cereal and leguminous plants, sugar, acidity, and dry matter in fruit and vegetable plants, as well as all quality indicators for agricultural plant seeds, macro and micro-elements in soil, lime, and pH determination. The students performed tests and became familiar with the procedures for processing the results.

At the Vegetable Science Research Institute, students were informed about the operating principles of laboratory equipment, plant cultivation technologies, field schematic planning, fertilizer analysis procedures, and methods for determining phosphorus in the soil.

Students also visited the Zoology Institute, where they learned about the operational principles of laboratories in Protozoology, Biochemical Basis of Parasitic-Host Relationships, Hydrobiology, and Terrestrial Vertebrates. Modern methods for studying invertebrates and vertebrates were taught to them.

At the Botanical Institute, students were introduced to the distribution of wild plants by regions, geobotanical zoning, vegetation types, formations, and associations. They also learned the methods for preparing and storing herbariums.
