The Code for Future project Graduation Day at BSU
24-04-2025

A graduation ceremony for the "Code For Future" project was held at Baku State University (BSU).

In his speech, BSU Rector Elchin Babayev emphasized that the "Code For Future" project, organized by the Ministry of Science and Education, is important not only for the University but also for the entire country. He stated that the goal of higher education institutions is to train specialists who meet the demands of the labor market. This project serves that purpose and is being successfully implemented. "After 'Code For Future,' projects like 'DevEducation' IT College and 'Codelandia' have opened new opportunities for our students. We thank the Ministry of Science and Education for their support in organizing and continuing these initiatives."

BSU’s Advisor on Digitalization and Information Technologies, Shabnam Safarova, highlighted the successful implementation of the "Code For Future" project since 2021, and its significant role in increasing IT knowledge among students. She noted that last year's graduates are now teaching the program, and more than 90% of the graduates have been involved in employment, which is also a result of the program's sustainability. In a world rapidly advancing with artificial intelligence and on the verge of the 6th industrial revolution, the IT field is no longer just in demand but a necessity. "We hope to see graduates of the 'Code For Future' project actively participating in increasing the high-skilled human resource potential at BDU."

Tughrul Kapucuoghlu, the Business Development Director and Head of the Academic Department at "Code Academy," expressed pride in the results of the project that has been running for over three years. He mentioned that nearly 3,000 students across six universities in the country have participated in the "Code For Future" project, with international certificates awarded to the graduates, marking the project’s success. "We wish success to our graduates and new students joining the project."

Elnur Hüseynov, a graduate of the previous "Code For Future" programs, shared his success story and recommended making the most of the project.

The Head Coordinator of the "Code For Future" project, Asya Rustamova, presented statistics based on data collected by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection’s National Observatory on the labor market and social protection, detailing that since 2021, there have been 2,658 graduates from the "Code For Future" project, 515 of whom are BDU students and alumni. Additionally, 150 students have received international certificates, which is a significant achievement.

Later, students Izafe Tagiyeva and Ayla Atakiyeva, third-year students from the Department of Applied Mathematics and Cybernetics and SABAH groups in the "Computer Science" program, presented their projects.

At the end of the event, certificates were awarded to the BDU students who graduated from the "Code For Future" project.
