As part of the ECOLEAD project (Environmental Empowerment: Awareness and Law Enforcement Measures), a tree-planting campaign was held in honor of the 102nd anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s birth.
The campaign took place in the Surakhani district of Baku and was attended by the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan Kamran Aliyev, senior officials and staff members of the Prosecutor’s Office, Rector of Baku State University Elchin Babayev and university staff, as well as representatives of the State Environmental Security Service under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the Greening Department of the Baku City Executive Authority, and the Surakhani District Executive Authority. A total of 500 trees were planted across 2 hectares of land.
It is worth noting that since the launch of the ECOLEAD project in 2024—an initiative of the Prosecutor General’s Office—more than 2,200 trees have been planted across 10 hectares in the Surakhani, Nasimi, Binagadi, Yasamal, and Khatai districts of Baku.
Currently, the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, Baku State University, Nakhchivan State University, and Karabakh University are jointly implementing the ECOLEAD project, with plans to continue fulfilling the project’s objectives in the future.
