The second training of the “Smart Agro Technology” project, funded by the Youth Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan, was held at Baku State University (BSU).
Mais Suleymanov, Director of the Center for the Organization of Scientific Activity and Innovations at BSU, emphasized the importance of deep knowledge in natural sciences and its future prospects, encouraging participants to actively engage in such projects.
Mohammad Maharramov, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Physics, highlighted that food security occupies a special place among the sectors ensuring national security. He stressed the necessity of advancing agriculture through modern technologies, particularly in countries like Azerbaijan with limited fresh water resources. He noted that the application of efficient irrigation technologies in agriculture is crucial and that the “Smart Agro Technology” project meets the demands of the times, wishing the participants success.
Project Manager Sara Rahimzadeh provided information on the topics and tasks for the second stage of the training.
In the second stage of the training, which focused on the development of a field station for the initial prototype of the smart irrigation system, trainer Elshan Nasirov discussed the shortcomings of existing smart irrigation systems and possible solutions to these problems. Participants then carried out practical exercises.
