The SDG Week at BSU has come to an end

Baku State University (BSU) Student Trade Union Committee (STUC) organized the closing event of the "Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Week." The final event of the week was dedicated to the goal of "Reducing Inequality."

The event began with the national anthem, followed by a one-minute silence in honor of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and our martyrs who lost their lives for the freedom of our lands.

Zohrab Javadzade, the Chairman of BSU's STUC, discussed the initiatives carried out during the week and emphasized the importance of reducing inequality as a critical goal on both a global and local scale.

Asiman İlyasov, the BSU Rector's Advisor on Quality Assurance, informed the students about the steps the university is taking to build an inclusive society, stressing the role of reducing inequality in ensuring socio-economic welfare and justice.

Ramin Samadov, Head of the Department of Humanitarian Affairs and Youth Policy at BSU, noted that the SDGs are highly relevant for young people.

Social expert Elman Suleymanov highlighted, through real-life examples, the importance of preventing inequality in various fields. He emphasized that physical limitations should never hinder a person and encouraged students to become more aware and improve their personal development by reading scientific articles.

Nigar Aghazade, founder and director of the "Support for People with Disabilities" Public Union, highlighted the global importance of the SDG on "Reducing Inequality" and stressed the need for greater attention and understanding toward vulnerable groups, especially people with disabilities.

The event also featured songs and dances presented by the members of the Union. Zöhrab Cavadzadə, Chairman of BSU's STUC, awarded certificates of appreciation to the members of the Union for their active participation in the event.
