The 9th International Scientific Conference “Modern Trends in Physics” is being held at the Faculty of Physics of Baku State University (BSU) within the framework of international scientific cooperation.
The conference was organized by BSU together with leading universities and research institutions from around the world, including partners from Türkiye, China, Moldova, the United States, Pakistan, Hungary, and Romania.
In his opening remarks, BSU Vice‑Rector for Science and Innovation Huseyn Mamedov noted that holding the conference this year — coinciding with the 5th anniversary of the Patriotic War victory and the Year of Constitution and Sovereignty — gives special significance to the event. He also emphasized that since its inception in 2009, the conference has continued to expand its scope and scientific impact.
The conference brings together representatives from more than 21 countries and has received over 300 submitted papers, reflecting strong international engagement and scholarly contribution to physics research.
At the opening ceremony, Nijat Mammadli, Advisor to the Minister of Education and Science, highlighted BSU’s role as a leading institution in Azerbaijan for fundamental science and stressed the importance of such large‑scale scientific events in strengthening international cooperation and fostering new research directions in physics.
The conference continues with sectional sessions that cover a wide range of contemporary topics in physics and serve as platforms for academic interaction among scientists, researchers, and students.
