Students of the SABAH groups at Baku State University have achieved notable success in the Spark Student Innovation Program organized by Birbank.
Fourth-year Computer Science students Samir Habibov, Gulchin Atlarova, and Saida Ismayilova were awarded second place in the competition.
The program, which brought together young people interested in new technologies and innovation, received applications from 140 teams. Following the selection stage, only nine teams advanced to the final round. The “AEVIC Esports” project presented by the BSU students was highly praised by the jury and secured second place in the final competition.
As one of the first multifunctional esports platforms developed in Azerbaijan, AEVIC Esports aims to unite the country’s esports ecosystem within a single platform. The project is designed to strengthen collaboration among players, teams, organizers, and partners, while creating new development and career opportunities for young people.
Future plans for the project include organizing tournaments, supporting player development, facilitating team management, identifying emerging talent, and contributing to the growth of the esports industry in Azerbaijan.
This achievement reflects the students’ innovative thinking, technological expertise, and entrepreneurial potential, while also demonstrating the positive impact of the innovation-oriented environment fostered at BSU.
