Sustainable Development Goals at Baku State University.

Fourth-year students of the Biology Faculty of Baku State University (BSU) majoring in Biology, Aquatic Bioresources and Aquaculture, and Plant Protection participated in a field training practice program in the Guba district.

The primary objective of the practice was to connect students’ theoretical knowledge with practical activities and to enhance their research skills in the study of flora and fauna.

During the field training, students collected samples of various plant species, observed their morphological characteristics, and examined their distribution areas and ecological significance. They also conducted observations on the diversity, habitats, and biological features of vertebrate and invertebrate animal species found in the area.

Students majoring in Aquatic Bioresources and Aquaculture gained practical experience in assessing the ecological condition of local water bodies, studying the diversity of aquatic organisms, and investigating the characteristics of aquatic ecosystems. Students specializing in Plant Protection carried out research on agricultural and natural vegetation pests, plant pathogens, and methods of their control.

As part of the practice program, students also acquired practical knowledge of biodiversity conservation, ecological monitoring techniques, and the procedures for collecting and processing biological samples.

The field training practice provided students with an opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge in real-world conditions and to further develop their observation, analysis, and evaluation skills in natural environments.
