Beginning with the 2026/2027 academic year, Baku State University (BSU) will introduce its first Master's specialization in Medicinal Chemistry.
The new specialization is designed to prepare highly qualified professionals in the design, synthesis, analysis, quality assessment, and development of novel bioactive compounds. The curriculum follows a multidisciplinary approach that integrates the latest advances in chemistry, biology, and pharmaceutical sciences, ensuring that students acquire both strong theoretical knowledge and practical laboratory skills.
Throughout the program, graduate students will receive comprehensive training in the synthesis of pharmaceutical compounds, modern laboratory and analytical techniques, pharmaceutical quality control, computer-aided drug design, pharmaceutical technologies, and the development of innovative therapeutic agents.
Graduates of the program will be equipped for careers in the pharmaceutical industry, drug quality control organizations, research institutes, analytical laboratories, and higher education institutions.
The establishment of the Medicinal Chemistry specialization aims to strengthen national capacity in pharmaceutical research, enhance the country's scientific potential, and prepare highly qualified specialists capable of meeting the demands of the international labor market.
