Admission of International Students to Baku State University
Baku State University (BSU), as a leading higher education institution in Azerbaijan, is committed to promoting global education and inclusivity. In line with this mission, BSU has established admission policies and financial support mechanisms to assist talented students from low and lower-middle-income countries, offering partial or full tuition fee waivers, scholarships, and grants based on academic merit and financial need.
The admission of foreign students is managed by the International Admissions Committee of Baku State University. Applications are accepted electronically through the official BSU Education Portal.
Required Documents for Admission:

Application addressed to the Rector of Baku State University, indicating the chosen program, language of instruction, and form of study;

Notarized copy of the educational document(s) (certificate, diploma, or transcript) with an official Azerbaijani translation, including subjects studied and grades received, duly legalized or apostilled;

Medical certificate, confirming good health and the absence of HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis B and C;

Copy of a valid passport;

Six (6) recent photos (size 3x4 cm);

Certificate of language proficiency in the language of instruction (if available);

Copies of awards, diplomas, or certificates of achievement (if available).
After the evaluation of applications, the Admissions Committee notifies candidates of the results. Successful applicants receive an official admission letter and are required to submit their original documents upon arrival for registration at Baku State University.
Tuition Fee Discounts and Scholarships
To support international academic diversity, BSU offers special tuition fee discounts for students from Nigeria, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and other developing countries who demonstrate strong academic performance in their previous studies (as evidenced by their certificates, diplomas, or transcripts).
Through these initiatives, Baku State University continues to enhance its global engagement, ensuring access to high-quality education for outstanding students from around the world.
