Another specialized career fair titled “Towards a Professional Future” was held jointly by Baku State University (BSU) and the Regional Development Public Union (RDPU). The fair brought together 25 reputable companies operating in the agricultural sector, which presented their job vacancies to students and graduates.
At the official opening ceremony, BSU Vice-Rector for Social Affairs, Student Relations, and Public Communications Alish Agamirzayev noted that the dynamic development of technologies requires higher education to adapt to the demands of the labor market. He emphasized that BSU cooperates effectively with leading international organizations as well as local governmental and non-governmental institutions, continuously studies labor market needs, and updates its academic programs accordingly. The Vice-Rector highlighted that the Career Fair, organized jointly with RDPU—one of the country’s most reputable public organizations—creates new opportunities for students and graduates, encouraging them to take advantage of these opportunities to build successful careers.
Head of the Department for Cooperation with International Organizations at RDPU, Gulbagda Leysanova, stated that one of the organization’s key priorities is to introduce students to the labor market at an early stage and help them plan their future careers more consciously. In this regard, the Career Fair organized together with BSU serves as an important platform for students and graduates to become familiar with the real landscape of the agricultural sector. She noted that the event also fosters university–industry cooperation and supports the agricultural sector in acquiring qualified human resources, expressing confidence that the specialized Career Fair would contribute to the sector’s sustainable development.
Within the framework of the Career Fair, two panel discussions were held: “The Role of Public Services and University Cooperation in the Sustainable Development of the Agricultural Sector” and “Trends in the Agricultural Labor Market and Private Sector Requirements.”
Following the panels, students and graduates explored job vacancies, internship opportunities, scholarships, and volunteer programs offered by leading agricultural companies in the country.
