Awareness seminar on industrial property and patent registration at BSU

An awareness seminar titled “Objects of Industrial Property and Their Registration” was held at Baku State University (BSU) through the joint organization of the University’s Center for the Organization of Scientific Activity and Innovations, Intellectual Property Protection Department, and the Intellectual Property Agency.

Professor Mais Suleymanov, Director of the Institute of Physics Problems under BSU, spoke to participants about the importance of protecting intellectual property and the role of industrial property in fostering an innovative environment.

Anar Huseynov, Director of the Center for Patent and Trademark Expertise under the Intellectual Property Agency, provided information on the purpose of the seminar, the significance of protecting industrial property objects, and the role of patenting within the innovation ecosystem.

Konul Amircanova, Senior Consultant-Expert of the Center, and Afet Gasimova, Head of the Department of Primary Examination and Industrial Design Expertise, delivered presentations on patentable subject matter and the preparation of application documents.

During the continuation of the seminar, Sevinc Zeynalova, Head of the Department for Invention and Utility Model Expertise; Sevinc Dunymalizade, Leading Consultant of the Chemistry Division; and Firuza Bahrmova, Expert at the Center for Patent and Trademark Expertise, provided extensive information on the examination of intellectual property objects, international and regional patenting procedures, preparation of application documents in the fields of chemistry and medicine, as well as the functionality of the “PƏNAH” digital information system.

The event concluded with a Q&A session. The seminar made a significant contribution to promoting intellectual property culture and strengthening cooperation between the university and the agency.
