Baku State University Strengthens Support for Startups Driving a Low-Carbon Economy
Baku State University (BSU) continues to play a leading role in fostering startups and innovative projects that promote a low-carbon economy and clean technologies. Through education, research, and collaboration with national and international partners, BSU provides a comprehensive ecosystem for sustainable innovation.
Startup Support and Innovation Initiatives

Startup School 2 – AI for Green Solidarity: In collaboration with the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence and the University of Nevada, USA, BSU hosted the "AI for Green Solidarity" project. This initiative applies artificial intelligence to green and digital development, encouraging students to develop innovative solutions for environmental challenges.

EcoEnergy Station: In partnership with the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA), BSU established the "EcoEnergy" station on campus. Utilizing solar and wind energy, the station provides clean electricity for charging electric vehicles and promotes sustainable energy practices within the university community.

Eco Space: BSU introduced the "Eco Space," featuring ecologically clean products, a bioreactor producing oxygen, and advanced digital technologies for real-time air quality assessment. Powered primarily by solar panels, Eco Space exemplifies BSU’s commitment to ecological principles and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

Environmental Engineering Program: BSU’s Faculty of Ecology and Soil Science offers a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering. The program equips students with knowledge in environmental protection, water purification, soil reclamation, waste recycling, and ecological design, preparing graduates for careers in energy, agriculture, and ecological projects.
