Baku State University (BSU) and the “Regional Development” Public Union (RDPU) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation.
The memorandum was signed by BSU Rector Elchin Babayev and RDPU Chairperson Mammad Abdullayev.
In his remarks, BSU Rector Elchin Babayev emphasized that the “Regional Development” Public Union, established on the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, implements impactful projects in the socio-economic, public, and cultural life of the country, contributes to civil society building, and supports youth networking. He noted that BSU and RDPU have been successfully cooperating for several years and expressed confidence that the newly signed memorandum will further strengthen this partnership. The rector stated that engaging youth in public organizations serves as an important source of motivation and experience. He also highlighted that BSU hosts numerous youth organizations, many of which actively contribute to RDPU-implemented projects.
RDPU Chairperson Mammad Abdullayev stated that the memorandum will help effectively connect BSU’s scientific and intellectual potential with the development of the capital and regions. “We believe that combining BSU’s modern scientific capabilities with the extensive experience of the Regional Development Public Union in various fields will generate significant benefits for our country. Today’s memorandum is a model built upon mutual trust and cooperation,” he noted.
Mammad Abdullayev emphasized the key role of educational initiatives in RDPU’s activities, highlighting the Union’s close cooperation with the Ministry of Science and Education and leading higher education institutions. He also reflected on the various events jointly organized with Baku State University to date.
The memorandum envisions the development of mutual cooperation between the University and RDPU, the implementation of joint projects and initiatives in the social, economic, environmental, scientific, cultural, educational, information technology and other areas, supporting youth development, raising public awareness, and contributing to sustainable development.
Within the framework of the memorandum, the parties will jointly implement projects, competitions, academic conferences, and contests aligned with modern challenges and labor market requirements. It also includes engaging students as RDPU volunteers to support their personal development, promote social responsibility and volunteerism, ensure their participation in various projects and events, and create opportunities for students to undertake internships at the Public Union.
