A special event dedicated to International Women's Day was held at Baku State University through the joint organization of the Student Trade Union Committee and the Student Youth Organization of the Faculty of Ecology and Soil Science.
The event opened with remarks by Konul Aslanova, Vice Dean for Social Affairs and Student Relations of the Faculty of Ecology and Soil Science. She spoke about the role of women in society and highlighted their contributions to science, education, and environmental protection. Congratulating the female students of the faculty, she wished them continued success in their academic and professional endeavors.
The audience was then addressed by Aytac Aliyeva, a lecturer at the Department of Political Science of BSU. In her presentation, she discussed the historical development of women’s rights, the importance of gender equality, and the active participation of women in Azerbaijan’s social and political life. She also emphasized the significance of International Women’s Day in promoting awareness of women’s achievements and rights.
The event continued with a literary and artistic programme prepared by members of the Student Trade Union Committee and the Student Youth Organization. Students performed poems and songs and presented stage compositions dedicated to women.
