Sustainable Development Goals at Baku State University.

Baku State University’s (BSU) Scientific Library has secured trial-period free access to two prestigious academic platforms—Ongoing Research Index and JoVE—to expand research opportunities for the university’s faculty members and young researchers.

JoVE, the world’s first peer-reviewed scientific video database, presents scholarly articles in video format and contains over 30,000 experimental and educational videos. The platform offers peer-reviewed experimental method videos for researchers, as well as instructional materials for educators and students. JoVE is indexed by leading scientific databases such as PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science. Its main advantage lies in visually demonstrating laboratory processes, enabling experiments to be conducted more accurately and reproducibly. Access to the platform is available until January 15, 2026, via the link provided through the university library.

The Ongoing Research Index database supports the research activities of academic staff by offering access to more than 160,000 ongoing dissertations and over 380,000 research projects with contact details, with an estimated annual funding value of 30 billion USD. The platform enables researchers and the academic community to monitor ongoing studies, identify trends, and explore opportunities for collaboration and co-funding. This makes it an invaluable resource for universities in shaping strategic decisions, updating research performance indicators, and improving institutional rankings. Access to the platform is available until December 18, 2025 through the designated website.

The electronic resources of both international platforms are available not only to BSU’s professors, teaching staff, young researchers, and readers, but also to users of 14 higher education institutions that are members of the Azerbaijan Library Information Consortium (AzKIK) operating at BSU. These institutions include: Azerbaijan University of Languages, Azerbaijan State University of Economics, Azerbaijan Medical University, Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University, Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction, Azerbaijan Aviation Academy, Baku Higher Oil School, Azerbaijan Tourism and Management University, Nakhchivan State University, Mingachevir State University, Khazar University, Azerbaijan University, and Baku Business University.
