Baku State University (BSU) hosted a meeting titled “Healthy Life, Healthy Future”, jointly organized by the “BSU Volunteers” and the Republican AIDS Center of the Ministry of Health.
During the session, students were provided with comprehensive information about Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) and the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), including their nature, transmission routes, and prevention methods. It was emphasized that thousands of people worldwide face the risk of HIV and hepatitis infection every day, and the likelihood of contracting both diseases simultaneously is considerably high.
The Center’s representatives highlighted the importance of continuous awareness-raising activities to protect young people from this social threat, increase interest in leading a healthy lifestyle, and promote national and moral values. Participants were also informed about the symptoms of the virus and modern treatment approaches.
At the end of the event, voluntary blood sampling was conducted among students to ensure initial HIV/AIDS screening and early diagnosis.
